Dahn Yoga and Dahnjon

When people first come to a Dahn Yoga Center, one of the first things they hear from the Dahn Yoga Instructor, is “Dahnjon.” I heard that in the human body we have three Dahnjons. When we refer to Dahnjon, by default it means the lower Dahnjon. It acts as the fuel tank of energy. It functions as the center to circulate energy throughout the body. Like the heart is the center of blood circulation, Dahnjon is the center of energy circulation, and a repository of energy.

It is located 2 or 3 inches below the belly button and two inches inside the belly, in the center of the abdomen. Breathe in deeply and out slowly. Do this slowly and concentrate on your breathing. You can place one hand on the Dahnjon area and feel the hand moving. This breath work is called Dahnjon breathing at Dahn Yoga.

This Dahnjon breathing is good for health. You can practice this breathing exercise after Brain Wave Vibration. Do Brain Wave Vibration training for 10 minutes and perform the abdominal breathing for about ten minutes. It will bring about significant change in your health.

Bowing Exercise

I have been doing the 103 bowing exercise and noticed a significant difference in the days I do not do it. My energy level is not the same and my back feels stiff and sore. Recently I started doing it more slowly instead of rushing and trying to do it in 17 minutes or so. My fellow Dahn Yoga member recommended it and I want to recommend it to every body. The effect seems greater when I do it slowly as I become more aware of my breathing, my thoughts and feel a sense of sacredness. My body gets really hot by the time I finish.

Health Issues

If you are experiencing specific health issues, it is best to consult a trusted health care professional prior to proceeding with meridian exercises. Always listen to your body. There is no need to rush your progress or to push through your discomfort. All bodies are unique, and you will find your own level of practice naturally.

The meridian exercises will help to correct the misuse of the body from habits accrued overtime. It is important to practice consistently. Some people want quick remedies and thereby become frustrated when the results are not immediate. Meridian exercises must be practiced and nurtured over time. You will feel when the condition of your body improves.

As you develop astuteness in recognizing the nuances of your body’s workings and skill in deciphering a problem before it intensifies, you will continue to progress in becoming an active participant in your own self-healing.

How to do yoga practice…

Last week someone from Dahn Yoga mentioned in class that some instructors actually fall asleep in the sleeping tiger pose. Knowing this has made it very easy to stay in this pose for much longer periods of time. I can see now it was the mind which created the limitation as to how long I could stay in the sleeping tiger pose, now it knows there are no limits….

Meridian exercise is different from general exercise. Dahn Yoga Meridian exercise is bringing positive energy to the body for creative energy. The synchronous movements can have far-reaching healing benefits. If you perform these exercises with honesty and sincerity, you can significantly self-heal the symptoms that cause you distress.
