Significance of Spiritual Growth
We can use a computer analogy to explain the significance of spiritual growth. A computer process consists of hardware, software, and the user. Your soul is analogous to the user, your body to the hardware, and your mind, with all of your knowledge and information, to the software. Your soul provides the impetus, or desire, for spiritual growth, as the user decides what task to do on the computer. Just as we replace computer hardware when it wears out, our body regenerates on a regular basis. However, this does not mean that the user is changing. No, the user is the same and only the computer is new. As we upgrade software to a newer version, we receive newer and better information. One important distinction to keep in mind here is that as we upgrade the hardware and software, the user is growing and maturing throughout the process. The user, or soul, grows spiritually in the direction of eventual completion of Oneness with God, Cosmic Energy and Cosmic Mind. The computer hardware and software are merely tools for the user, for a certain task, which is completion of the soul through a spiritual growth process.
In order for the user to process higher quality and quantity of information necessary for growth of the self, he or she must upgrade the computer system. After all, you cannot expect to surf the web with an original IBM PC and two 5.25″ disk drives with 16 RAM. This, in our lingo, means that you have to upgrade your brain to a Power Brain. As Ilchi Lee previously stated, Brain Respiration is a way of upgrading the brain that I have found to be equally effective and applicable to almost everyone.
