The unemployment rate in Arizona is higher than the national average, so those in the Grand Canyon State may benefit from some job search advice.
This is precisely what ABC15 offered in a recent article. Writing for the news outlet Karen E. Lamb, who is the assistant director of career advising and curriculum at Arizona State University, offered some tips about the best way to set one's self up for a career change.
Lamb said that once one falls into a rut at their job and there are no clear ways to advance in a company it might be time for one to switch careers.
The first thing one should do, according to Lamb, is to assess what sort of degree is required in one's desired field. While one's life-long dream may have been to be an architect, such a profession requires extensive schooling. However, there a number of programs at many community colleges that can open up doors to different careers, Lamb writes.
If one is ready for the personal change of switching careers, he or she may want to also spend some time talking to friends and relatives to get their input on the situation.
